I know for this assignment we have to discuss one of the presentations from another group and I had such a hard time deciding. But, I have chosen to review back on the presentation over drones. I really enjoyed this presentation mainly because I literally had no idea what drones were and what they were used for up until this presentation. That being said it is probably to review back on the varying uses drones had and in what ways they can help with everyday lives. First off, drones can be used as transportation for human beings, photography, and transporting goods from point A to point B. I honestly that this was an amazing process. This evolutional advancement in transportation and art is phenomenal. That being said it is also amazing that people have gone to such an extent to make these strides in technology. It is also amazing that companies and people are putting themselves and products at such a risk. By this I mean that the group outlined in what ways these drones are a risky …
Okay so I'll just come out and say I am very skeptical of artificial references. However, I do not believe it is impossible. I believe that it may be achievable but not yet. That being said I believe in class we are seeing varying evolution in reference to new artificial intelligence. I don't believe we are currently at a level where we are able to put together artificial intelligence. That being said we can currently identify how there is such a risk that the world of electronics will take over. If we allow electronics to have their own minds they may be able to formulate for themselves the idea to take over and control the human race. Which is horrifying and does correspond with the ideas that some of the most intelligent people in history also have said. So should we be trying to create artificial intelligence? Or should we let this idea fade away? I think we should let this idea of artificial intelligence lie until we are so technologically advanced we can create a way to …
So, I want to start off by saying I surprisingly enjoyed this movie. I found it to be very informative and overall entertaining. Kalil rubbed me the wrong way from the beginning. He seemed so sneaky and too stuck on what he thought was right to even take into consideration what other ideas may be useful. Other than that his stuck on himself attitude just didn't work for me. Tom on the other hand seemed to be all about other people, and I get that but he cared so much about his relationships and not enough about the business overall. Neither of them struck me as responsible business men that I would want to work for or invest in. I also think once they made a lot of money they took more time on being publicized than they put time in improving and making their website better. That was an issue that I saw throughout the movie. However, I think this movie had a lot of information in regards to how a business should not be run. I also think the documentary aspect brought out the worst …
The Dot.com bubble was very interesting to discuss and gain more knowledge about. Here is the thing about this, I think it was completely and utterly expected. There was a new invention and a new way several individuals were able to make money. By creating new websites and new ways to send data and retrieve new information, there was a chance that the websites would be estimated above their actual worth, which would then cause the economy to crash. That being said the new creations within the realm of the internet were so interesting and important within our new and developing life that we didn't exactly know the worth of what we were creating. Which would explain what caused the economy to tank. I also think it is really important to point out how amazed we as people were with the new creations. In a lot of ways because of the mass amazement anyone would pay anything for these new creations. Which explains why the crash occurred. In so many ways this could have been avoided. Thos…
I really enjoyed Erik's presentation. Overall it was very informative, it definitely brought into perspective for me that technology is truly a thing that we under appreciate. I can say that I never really thought about the fact the all these different evolutions within technology brought to life some the things in which we use today. I was taken aback when he said that podcasts were made possible through telecommunications and several other inventions or innovations within technology. I'm sad it took so long for me to actually appreciate the mere development that has taken place. It's like one thing lays concrete for a future stone that will soon be placed (or other technological development if you get my comparison of concrete and brick). The world is also paving new ways we can put our own personal interest out there. Ebooks and online blogs have given everyone the ability to create and imagine. THIS IS PHENOMENAL. Literally anyone can start or create something that the…
There are so any things in which I feel would provide an interesting topic to study for the final project. I’ll be honest I thought long and hard about this and still do not know if I have found the absolute concrete thing in which I one hundred percent wish to talk about, however, at this point in time I think that the topic that comes to mind is something in which everyone is curious about at this point. The specific topic that speaks to me is known as cyber-crime. Cyber-crime is so complex and honestly something I think people look past and don’t give much thought to. But, HELLO, everyone needs to look at cyber-crime as a serious threat. This is something that the federal government fights against on a daily basis. On top of that I guarantee one hundred percent that they are terrified of what cyber-crimes consist of, I know I am. There are so many forms of cyber- crimes. From cyber bullying to hacking a person’s bank account to steal all of their money. That is a real-life thing. …
Journalism is becoming more and accessible and any person can become a journalist by simply just informing the world of what they are up to, where they are, and what they are doing. More and more people leap onto social media and they themselves become a nonpaid journalist. It almost seems like journalism via social media is becoming the bright new thing. Paper journalism has become more and more obsolete. On top of that it seems that more and more journalists may soon be out of the job. However, paperless journalism may be a step in the right direction when referring to the environment and those that are worried the various papers are going to harm the planet. In some ways I believe becoming paperless would be better, but in other ways I absolutely love buying a magazine and reading a magazine not on a screen.  Overall, I think that we as humans are going to have to prepare for strictly online journalism. I think that some journalist will remain, however, they will be required stric…
